ccview5Casa Cubuy is a special, tranquil place where you can contemplate the wonder and beauty of the rain forest that surrounds you. Sleep late, sunbathe on granite slabs and boulders worn smooth by eons of cascading waters. Slip into a natural Jacuzzi and let the water gently massage away the tensions of city life. (Above) Relax in a hammock on the veranda, read, or just watch the clouds float by in this setting of giant tree ferns, soaring breadfruit trees, and wild orchids. Explore trails to prehistoric Indian rock carvings.

ccfrontLocated above Naguabo in Puerto Rico, Casa Cubuy offers a less-stressful alternative than the busy north side of the El Yunque Rain Forest. This quiet retreat lies nearly at the top of the road on the south side of the mountain.

Casa Cubuy is remote.  It has no TV, no nearby night spots (although there are local pubs and restaurants a few miles down the mountain).  There are no scooter rentals, no hassles, no traffic, no noise, and no crowds.

Besides the location, the best thing about Casa Cubuy is its mother/son management team of Marianne and Matthew Kavanaugh.  Matthew can tell you where to see pre-Columbian petroglyphs, and how to hunt for huge, freshwater prawns.  Marianne will cook a scrumptious breakfast with plenty of fresh fruits and juices.
